Cat Elrod (She/Her)

Licensed Professional Counselr
Accepting New Clients
Cat (she/her) is a therapist who is passionate about helping adults feel heard, seen, and more connected to themselves and their relationships. Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you are carrying anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity struggles, or patterns that you cannot simply “think your way out of.” Many of Cat’s clients are cycle-breakers, helpers, deep feelers, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are used to being the strong one for everyone else. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in creating a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where clients can show up exactly as they are. She believes there is no “one-size-fits-all” path to healing and that therapy should move at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable. Cat’s work is trauma-informed, affirming, and rooted in nervous system regulation, attachment, and family systems. She believes healing happens when people feel safe enough to explore all parts of who they are — their identity, relationships, spirituality, emotions, and lived experiences — without shame or pressure to mask. Her approach integrates evidence-based practices with authenticity, curiosity, and genuine human connection to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change in their daily lives. She believes therapy should be a space where clients can exhale, make meaning of their experiences, and reconnect with the version of themselves that feels grounded, empowered, and authentic. Cat has experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and her work is rooted in family systems with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, attachment-focused interventions, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and work with polyamory and nontraditional relationship dynamics. She also has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, serious mental health concerns, relationship difficulties, self-esteem challenges, grief, and life transitions.
