Stress and Trauma are held in the nervous system. At this training we will introduce the difference between the top down and bottom up approaches to treating trauma. We will learn about the different components of the nervous system, the window of tolerance, and how to increase clients’ ability to cope with stress and decrease dysregulation. You will learn practical interventions such as breathing, mindfulness, and working with the vagus nerve to help clients who experience triggers, anxiety, and somatic complaints. CEUs available for Oklahoma LPCs, LMFTs, CMs, LCSWs, and LMSWs.
