WHAT TO EXPECT
It is vital in working with children, that the parents play an active role in the process. The therapist will usually meet with the parents first to understand the child’s needs and then use evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT, play therapy, art, games, etc to help your child feel comfortable and safe. The language of children is play, so don’t be surprised if your child reports back that they played with their therapist.
