FAQ's

Sometimes it varies by clinician, but most therapists accept: BCBS, Optum/United/UMR, Health Choice, Community Care, Cigna, Aetna, and TriCare West.

This depends on your insurance. You may have a deductible to meet, a copay, or a coinsurance where you pay a percentage of the total amount for the session. We will do our best to check your benefits and can give you an estimate of what you can expect. Unfortunately, health insurance is complicated and we can’t always tell for sure until your insurance actually responds to your first claim. We recommend you also call your insurance if the amount you will have to pay is a concern.

In order to bill your insurance, your therapist is contractually obligated to communicate information to your insurance company including a mental health diagnosis, medical necessity for treatment, information about your progress, and sessions. They could dictate the number of sessions you receive or how long your therapy lasts. There are other potential implications to having a mental health diagnosis. These are things you should consider when deciding whether or not to use your insurance to help pay for therapy. .

Our good faith estimate for services paid for out of pocket is $165 for any session lasting up to 67 minutes. Most sessions last between 53 and 60 minutes. Anything above 67 minutes will be charged at a prorated rate. If finances are a barrier to receiving help, please inform your clinician.

It depends. Insurance does not pay for marriage counseling where the focus of treatment is the marriage. Insurance will usually pay for family counseling, when one person in the family is the focus of treatment, is also attending individual counseling, and where family counseling can be a helpful tool to help the identified patient. The identified patient must have completed an individual intake assessment and will need a mental health diagnosis in order for us to bill insurance.

We don’t typically have a receptionist in our waiting room. Instead we use an electronic check in system where you will enter your name and phone number and then select your therapist. Have a seat in our waiting room. Your therapist will receive a text that you’ve arrived and will come out to greet you. If you are waiting more than 10 minutes after your appointment was scheduled to begin, please call or text the office number 918-205-4148.

During your first session, your therapist will go over things like confidentiality and then ask you a variety of questions to help them understand what you are going through and what they can help you work on. This is usually a more formal session than future sessions.

This happens sometimes. It’s really important in order for therapy to be successful that you feel good about who you are seeing. If you don’t feel like your therapist is a good fit, please speak up! We likely have someone else available that may be better able to meet your needs. Just call or text our office and we will see what we can do!
