Diagnostic Testing for ADHD & Autism

At RESOLVE, we believe that understanding your mind is the first step toward living a more fulfilling life. Our practice offers specialized, comprehensive diagnostic testing services for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for both adults and children.

A diagnosis is not a label—it’s a detailed roadmap to unlock your unique strengths and identify the specific support you need for success in school, work, and relationships. We offer testing for ages 5 through adult with the caveat that the person being tested needs to have the developmental ability to communicate in full sentences.

Our Three-Step Diagnostic Process

The testing process is thorough, collaborative, and designed to make you feel comfortable and understood.

1. The Initial Consultation
We begin with a detailed intake interview to review your history, current concerns, and goals for testing.

  • What it is: A 60 minute appointment with our testing administrator
  • Prior to the appointment you will fill out a detailed history that enables us to decide the best course of action moving forward.

2. The Testing Session
This is the main assessment day, typically taking place at one of our two offices.  It is important you or your child come to this session well rested and eat breakfast beforehand.  Most sessions take place in the morning for the best results.  If you are sick, it is best to reschedule your appointment as it could skew your results.

The Testing Session will consist of:

  • Standardized Tests: Computer-based and paper-and-pencil tasks measuring attention, executive function, cognitive ability, and processing speed.
Behavioral Questionnaires: Completed by you and, with your permission, by family members or teachers/school personnel.
  • Clinical Observation: Structured activities to observe social communication, repetitive behaviors, and emotional regulation.

3. Feedback and Results
A few weeks after the testing, you will meet with your clinician for a 60-minute feedback session where we will:

  • Review the results and provide a formal diagnosis.
  • Discuss the meaning of the findings.
  • Develop personalized recommendations.
  • Report: The official comprehensive report,  containing all findings and recommendations, will be provided following this session.

Costs Involved

In some cases insurance will cover all or some of the costs of testing. At this time we are able to bill testing services to:

Blue Cross Blue Shield
Health Choice
Aetna
Cigna
Community Care

If you have a high deductible or if you will be paying out of pocket for testing, total costs are usually between $800 and $1500 depending on the complexity of the testing. This can be paid out over time but must be paid in full prior to the feedback session. We will give you an estimate of the out of pocket costs during your intake session.
